Defra’s New Entrant Support Scheme: apply for the pilot

Defra have a new entrants scheme seeking to help farming business innovation. Through this scheme Defra says it wants to “nurture entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas, foster innovation and promote growth.”

The scheme is looking to support new businesses in their early stages of development. This could involve developing a business idea, pitching for land and looking for finance. 

Defra are looking for around 200 pilot participants. The recruitment process starts in December with the pilot running until spring 2023.
