Harrowbarrow & Metherell Agricultural Society (HaMAS)
Harrowbarrow and Metherell Agricultural society was formed in 2009 and is based upon the community supported agriculture model which means we grow vegetables together in a communally supportive and sustainable way.
We’re a small group of committed vegetable growers cultivating about 1/2 acre and share the produce between us. The local primary school visits during the year and the children help with planting and harvesting. We also cook and eat produce on the field with them so they’re having fun and learning at the same time.
Our aim is to grow as many different types of good quality, fresh produce as cheaply as possible. We know where our food has come from, it can be on your plate within a few minutes of picking and you can keep fit in the process!
