CSA Media Training
Date Published: 8th July 2026
Free training sessions for CSA Network UK members on engaging with local media. We’ve teamed up with the Local Storytelling Exchange to run two sessions to equip you with the fundamental knowledge and tools to achieve local media hits and feel confident engaging with local media.
Getting local and regional media coverage is a fantastic way to tell your story, boost local awareness, catch the attention of your local decision-makers, and ensure that as many people as possible in your community hear about your amazing work.
The Local Storytelling Exchange works with individuals, communities, organisations and businesses across the UK working to build a future that is better for the environment and for society. They shine a spotlight on their stories, sharing them widely across local, regional, and national media, digital channels and offline events to show how everyday people are taking action and helping us swap to a better tomorrow.
This training session will cover the importance of local and regional media, guidance for engaging with the media, including interview tips, finding journalists, writing press releases, and more. There will be a chance to share your own projects so we can support you with developing your story for local media.
October 13th 6:00 – 7:30pm: Traditional media engagement (e.g. how to get your story covered by TV, radio and newspapers)
