FoodSmiles St Albans
FoodSmiles is a Community Supported Agriculture project based in St Albans. We hope to make local food and food-growing more accessible, bring our community together and become a new source of local food for St Albans. We grow organic vegetables on an acre of land on the 200 acre Hammonds End farm, which predominantly grows arable crops and beef. Our site on the farm is neighboured by a field of hens. We share what is available each week to our members through a weekly veg box scheme. We’re growing a wide range of vegetables and we have four polytunnels to help us to grow all year round.
In 2017 we expanded to a small site at the CDA community garden in Hixberry Lane, St Albans, and are starting an open-to-all community garden in St Albans town centre.
