Governance for your CSA

Are you trying to work out how to set up your CSA?

However you look at it, a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm project is a business. Somewhere along the line, you have to get your business head on and work out how this thing is going to work.

Like all businesses, you need to have clear objectives and a known structure. That way, you can run the business and bring the community, volunteers, members, growers and other staff together.

What kind of governance structure are you going to use for your CSA? Are you going to have a governing board? How will you define your objectives? Will you issue shares?

Gareth Davies has been an integral part of the development and successful running of two CSA’s, Canalside and Five Acres. Both are in the Midlands of the UK near Leamington Spa.

In this webinar, Gareth will take you through all the options you have available and help you decide what will be best for you.

You will come away from this 15-minute talk knowing a lot more about your options.

This presentation is half of a two-part webinar hosted by CSA Network UK. In the second part, you can hear how Ed Hamer started up and developed Chagfood, a CSA near Dartmoor he’s successfully run and developed for over 12 years.
