Meanwood Valley Urban Farm is currently recruiting for a Head Grower, to manage their small market garden team. You can read more about the role, download the application pack and find out how to apply on their website.
They are looking for a Head Grower to oversee the running their one-acre Market Garden. Which includes 100 outdoor beds, an orchard, five polytunnels and greenhouse/packing shed. It’s a hub of sustainable community food growing, feeding 130 households through its’ year-round CSA scheme and hosting 2 volunteer days every week. They are looking for an individual who is able to hit the ground running and provide leadership and support to the market garden staff and volunteers.
The candidate must have a few years’ experience of organic/agroecological growing, preferably in a commercial setting, with a strong theoretical and practical experience in edible horticulture. The total hours are 32 hours per week April to October, and 24 hours per week November through to end of March. The working days are Mon-Thu/Tue-Thu. Meanwood is not able to consider job shares for this role.
