CORE: Scaling up – Machinery, site design, irrigation and tools

25th February 2026 – 10:00-12:00 GMT Online

When you start a CSA, you’re immediately faced with a long list of decisions. And when you’re ready to grow, an entirely new set of considerations comes into play.

What equipment best suits your project? How can you make the most of the space you have? Which tools and irrigation systems are worth the investment, and which ones will drain your budget? What scale is realistic for your CSA and how does that match the capacity of the people involved?

Pete Dollimore and Rhian Williams bring deep, hands-on experience from establishing and expanding operations at The Montessori Place, Hankham Organics, and Kirkstall Valley Farm – successful CSAs and market gardens operating in very different contexts.

In this workshop, they’ll share the key factors to consider, offer guidance grounded in real-world experience and answer your questions to help your CSA grow confidently and sustainably.

This session is ideal for established CSAs looking to scale up and equally valuable for those just starting out who want to build solid foundations and avoid costly changes later on.

BOOK NOW to join individual masterclasses (£12 for CSA Network UK members, £15 for non-members) or a bundle of all six (£60 for members, £75 for non-members).
