Scottish Gathering Report
Date Published: 20th September 2023
Thirty people attended our recent Scottish gathering on The Black Isle near Inverness on the 16th and 17th of September which was generously supported by The Pebble Trust. Sessions on Food System Resilience and Economic Resilience were especially well received.
It was inspiring to connect with others and hear about both established and new projects starting up, including Seeds of Scotland – resurrecting some interesting heritage varieties – and people still formulating their vision and finding land. We had attendees from as far away as Skye, Dumfries & Galloway, and Edinburgh. LWA shared their vision for the horticulture renewal programme. The group also toured three quite different farms: Glachbeg Croft Centre, Black Isle Brewery Market Garden, and Knockfarrel Produce. The weekend was topped off with tasty pizza and salad from Black Isle Bar.
Check out our next gathering if you missed this event and want to start a CSA. It’s quite a bit further South, in Bristol, on the 7th and 8th of October. We have an amazing group of CSA experts ready to share their knowledge. Click here for more details.
