Steepholding
Steepholding is a tiny off-grid farm of nine acres, leased from the Ecological Land Co-op (ELC) on the border of Devon & Somerset. We grow delicious, seasonal vegetables and fruit for sale through our local veg box scheme and to small independent local businesses. We also produce heritage fruit trees, rare breed meat & eggs. We are WWOOF hosts and we enjoy providing educational opportunities about small scale sustainable farming for children and adults of any age.
In Bristol, Ruth was working at a community market garden in Hartcliffe, teaching Permaculture and organic gardening and has worked at Windmill Hill City Farm. Alex was based at Ragmans Lane Farm, harvesting willow, making apple juice and mushroom logs when they met and became a bicycle mechanic when he moved to Bristol. We both have been involved in Bristol Permaculture group, Bristol Seed Swap and Somewhere Housing Co-op where we lived.
